I’m so excited that there is now an easy way (and a free one!) for you to send me your questions live! Yes, live! You ask and I answer right away. How cool is that? Go to your phone, and download the Periscope app. Then, add me: Joanna Steven (@nettle_juice).
Last week, I did my first broadcast. I had no idea what to do, and there were a few hiccups (like someone calling me in the first minute of broadcasting when I usually never get calls!), but overall, it was super fun!
The broadcast was on my daily dental care routine, and you can watch the replay anytime you like. As I explain there, dental care is super important for mothers, because we expand so much nutrition to grow babies during pregnancy, and to feed them if we’re able to breastfeed. Plus, we’re always busy and a little stressed, so that doesn’t help either.
I got inspired to do it after interviewing Nadine Artemis on dental care for children, as part of the Nourished Village. The feedback on the interview was GREAT!
I promised to post about the products I mention. If you can’t watch the replay, then just know that I follow Living Libations’ Successful Dentistry in 8 Steps routine, which you can read about HERE.
Here are the specific products I use:
Step 1: The salt rinse. I use the very inexpensive coarse Celtic sea salt with Healthy Gum Drops.
Step 2: Scraping the tongue with a tongue scraper.
Step 3: Brushing the gums with Ozonated Gum Gel and Neem Enamelizer. Actually I’m reading this and realizing it’s brushing GUMS and not teeth. I was doing both. Ha! I use a cheap Oral-B toothbrush.
Step 4: Polishing the teeth with baking soda or Clay Toothpaste.
Step 5: Checking the gum line with a gum massager (called a gum butler… lol) and Ozonated Gum Gel.
Step 6: Flossing. I use random drugstore floss.
Step 7: Salt rinse again.
Step 8: I apply Ozonated Gum Gel or Healthy Gum Drops to my gums.
Franklin does pretty much the same thing with me, except he uses Wild Child drops instead of Healthy Gum Drops. It looks like a lot of steps… But I’m done in 5 minutes.
