When Franklin was little, I made a bad batch of coconut kefir. I could totally tell it was off, so don’t worry about it happening to you. You’ll know! You’ll open the jar and recoil in horror. Well, I don’t like to throw food away. I will finish everyone’s plates at the restaurant, and eat Franklin’s leftovers everyday. So… I drank the Coconut Kefir From Hell, and instantly got a urinary tract infection.
Since then, I regularly drink cranberry based drinks to keep them at bay, because D-Mannose, a sugar in cranberries, is very effective at keeping the bacteria from sinking its claws into your urinary tract. Pretty cool! And to sweeten things even more, the recipe below is a-ma-zing. Franklin will regularly pull the cranberry concentrate out of the fridge and ask me to make him “a cranberry drink”.
Refreshing Cranberry Drink with Stevia
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon cranberry concentrate
- 7 drops liquid stevia
- 8-10 ounces pure water (carbonated water works great here)
Instructions
- Add the cranberry concentrate and stevia to the bottom of a glass. Pour water on top. Add ice cubes if desired. Enjoy!
